Persuasive Speakers

 

We all must engage in persuasion every day.

Come visit us and see what it’s all about. Visitors are always welcome, no advance notice needed.

We meet at I-HOP on the southbound service drive of 183, just south of Joe’s Crab Shack (Duval exit) 1^st, 2^nd, and 3^rd Wednesdays of the month, starting at 6:00PM. You can even eat dinner during the meeting. Call us at 512-522-6013 for more info, or just show up. We'll be glad to see you.

Whether we are discussing what movie to see, where to go for vacation, or talking to that friend who really needs to "dump that loser" - we all have a need for enhancing our ability to influence others effectively and responsibly.

Maybe you're trying to sell an idea at work, dying to win a debate with a spouse, the activist of the family, have strong opinions, or just want to stop having the "if only I'd said" disease after a discussion.

 

We understand that:

• Controversy and disagreements are not inherently bad things.
• Good discussion & debate deepens our understanding, encourages us to consider other points of view, and enriches our lives.
• We can create a place where it is safe to express opinions, and help our members improve their ability to put forward a logical, ethical, well-researched, and passionate viewpoint.

Whether the subject is the Electoral College or "Should the end of a roll of toilet paper unroll from the top or bottom?" - we seek to discuss ideas, stretch our minds, and have a great time in the process.
